Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Equine Nurse to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will specialize in the care and management of horses undergoing treatment, rehabilitation, and routine wellness checks. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and technicians, providing the best equine care possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Perform routine checks on equine patients, monitoring vital signs and behavior.
- Assist in surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Communicate effectively with horse owners, discussing care options and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each equine patient.
- Assist in medical procedures, including radiographs and diagnostic imaging.
- Educate horse owners on wellness practices and preventative care.
- Ensure cleanliness and sterility of the treatment areas to promote a healthy environment.
- Support the overall operations of the equine care unit, including inventory management.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for our equine nursing jobs will possess the following qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Nursing or a related field.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT or RVT) is preferred.
